A premium vintage drum rental facility built around one of the most remarkable private collections in the country — nearly 100 years of drum history under one roof.
Las Vegas Drum Lab is founded by Joey Klaparda with partner Carlos Silva — housing one of the most remarkable private drum collections in the country.
Before building the Lab, Joey spent 17 years as Head of the Drum Department at SIR — Studio Instrument Rentals — across Hollywood and Las Vegas, working alongside countless drummers on countless records. That career lives in this room: in the instruments selected, the knowledge behind them, and the standard everything is held to.
Alongside Joey is partner Carlos Silva — a Las Vegas native and Berklee College of Music graduate who has been performing professionally on the Strip and across the country for decades, having performed with Blue Man Group and countless productions in Las Vegas. Carlos's experience brings a vital insight as an in-demand seasoned drummer both live and in the studio.
From a 1944 Slingerland War Baby to a rare Canopus Zelkova snare, every instrument in the Lab has a story. Whether you're a touring artist with a day off the road, a producer hunting the perfect drum sound, or a drummer who's never had access to a world-class room — the Las Vegas Drum Lab puts history in your hands.
Seven full vintage kit setups. Thirty-plus rare and vintage snare drums. Every instrument selected for its sound, its provenance, and its story.
Built during wartime materials restrictions, the War Baby is one of the most historically significant drums ever produced. The crown jewel of the collection.
The coveted Stop Sign badge era represents the peak of American drum craftsmanship. Rich, warm, and immediately iconic — this kit defines the Gretsch sound.
The golden era of American rock and jazz drumming. The 6-ply maple construction delivers a full-bodied punch that made Slingerland the choice of the greats.
DW's Fast Sizes configuration paired with a handcrafted Craviotto snare — a combination built for precision and projection in any musical context.
The industry standard for professional recording. Hand-selected DW Collector Series shells tuned and ready for immediate tracking in any genre.
Japan's finest drum builder. The Canopus Birch kit delivers a precision and sensitivity that rewards the most discerning players and recording environments.
Dry, seasoned Ash with a character that is immediately recognizable — a tone that sits uniquely between maple and birch and rewards the player who understands it.
Refurbished by legendary drum craftsman Roy Harte with period-correct 1950s hardware. A piece of drum history touched by one of the greats.
